His first win was at The Ablrate.com Championship, defeating countrymen Joe Dean and Richard Mansell by one shot before again defeating Mansell, this time by two, at the IFX and Winged Boots Championship as he moved to the top of the Order of Merit.
Dave signed off with a runner-up finish at the season-ending Tour Championship, three shots behind fellow graduate Nick McCarthy. Dave is no stranger to the Challenge Tour having played on Europe’s second tier in 2014 and 2015, securing three top tens in his first full season and two in his second. After turning professional in 2012, his best finish on Europe’s top developmental tour was a tied second place at the 2014 Turkish Airlines Challenge, two shots behind Welshman and winner Oliver Farr.

What are your thoughts on your season this year & what are your targets for next year?
I’ve really enjoyed the step up to Challenge Tour, the Europro Tour really set me up for this year ahead. And after the success of 2018 it was just a case of taking the same approach and
mindset into 2019. My main target for 2020 is to achieve promotion to the European Tour but with little check points along the way such as competing in the Rolex trophy which the top 45
on the order of merit play in.
What’s in the bag this year?
I’m fortunate enough to be supported by Ping, I use the G410 driver, 3 wood and hybrid with tensei blue x flex. My irons are i210 4-pw with nipon modus 105 x flex and ping wedges 50
54 58. I’m also using a 2 ball putter, which is fantastic.
What ball do you use and why?
I’m using the Titleist Pro V1x ball. I switched last year from the Pro V1 because I had more control on the wedges.
What is your career highlight?
I’ve had a few highlights in my career the ones that stand out are winning the 2018 PGA Europro Tour order of merit and playing in 2 Open Championships 2007, 2016.
What is your favourite course?
Who is in your dream fourball?
I’m not sure if I have one
If you could give our followers one simple golfing tip, what would it be?
If you’re going to practice one thing, practice your short game. It will save you so many shots.
What is your favourite football (soccer) team?
What Dave says about PuttPlate
I absolutely love my PuttPlate, it’s a great bit of kit that I have set up at home and also take it to the course.
